Thai beef & broccoli

1 lb steak, cut in thin strips
1/4 cup water
4 cloves garlic
2 tbsp cooking oil
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp crushed red pepper

1-1/2 tsp cornstarch
1-1/2 tsp nam pla
2 tbsp cooking oil
4 cups broccoli cut into 1″ pieces

How to prepare

Partially freeze the steak; with a sharp knife, slice the meat thinly into bite-sized strips. In a blender combine water, garlic, 2 tbsp cooking oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, crushed red pepper, cornstarch and nam pla. Cover the blender and blend until smooth. Set aside.
Heat a wok or skillet over high heat; add 2 tbsp cooking oil. Stir fry broccoli 3 to 4 minutes until crisp-tender. Remove from wok. Add more oil if necessary. Add half of the beef strips; stir fry 2 to 3 minutes or until brown. Stir fry remaining beef 2 to 3 minutes. Return all beef and broccoli to wok. Stir in the cornstarch mixture. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Cover and cook one minute more. Serve with hot cooked rice, hot lo mein noodles or deep fried wanton strips. Serves 4.
