Thai basil beef


4 tbsp oil
3 cloves garlic, chopped
3 jalapeno peppers, seeded & sliced
1 lb beef flank steak, thinly sliced across the grain
4 tbsp thai fish sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp ground white pepper (or 1/2 tsp black pepper)
1/2 cup coarsely chopped fresh basil leaves

How to prepare

Prepare all the ingredients in advance because the cooking goes quickly. Heat a wok and add the oil and garlic. Stir for just a moment and then add peppers and the meat. Stir again for just a couple of minutes so that the meat sears to medium rare, just a bit pink inside. Quickly add the remaining ingredients and toss for a moment. If you want to double the recipe, you must cook the beef in separate batches or it will boil and not sear.
