1/2 lb plus 2 tsp softened butter, divided
2 tbsp fresh lime juice, divided
1 tbsp chopped shallots
1/4 cup whipping cream
White pepper to taste
1 cup dried sweet red peppers such as anaheims, flaked
18 lg shrimp, peeled, tails on
1/4 cup dry white wine
Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
Chopped fresh basil or cilantro for garnish
