San antonio salsa


1 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
3 large tomatoes, peeled and seeded
1/2 tsp sugar
2 serranos chiles, chopped
salt & freshly ground black pepper
1 tbsp cilantro, chopped

How to prepare

Fry the onions and garlic until limp. Add remaining ingredients except cilantro and cook gently, 15 minutes. Add cilantro and cook 1-2 minutes more. Serve hot or cold. Makes 2 cups.
