Fudge brownies


4 oz unsweetened chocolate
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cup sugar
3 lg eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour, sifted
3/4 cup walnuts, chopped
1 pinch salt

How to prepare

In a small heavy saucepan, melt the chocolate and 1/2 cup butter over low heat, stirring until the mixture is smooth. Let mixture cool completely. In a large bowl with an electric mixer, cream together the remaining butter and sugar, beating until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla and the chocolate mixture. Add the flour and a pinch of salt, stirring until the mixture is blended well. Stir in the walnuts. Pour the batter into a buttered and floured 13x9x2″ baking pan, smoothing the surface. Bake in a preheated 350f oven for 30-40 minutes, or until it pulls away from the sides of the pan and a tester comes out with crumbs adhering to it. Let the brownie cool completely before cutting into squares.
