Dutch oven oatmeal pie


3/4 cup light corn syrup
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted 2 lg eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup quick cooking oats
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnut pieces
pastry for 10″ single crust pie
whipped cream for garnish

How to prepare

Place prepared pie crust in a 10″ dutch oven. Whisk corn syrup, brown sugar, milk, butter, eggs and vanilla in a lg bowl until well blended. Stir in remaining filling ingredients, then pour into crust. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Bake with 6 coals on bottom and 14 on top. To serve, garnish with whipped cream. This pie may be made in a 12″ oven by doubling the ingredients and baking with 8 coals on bottom and 17-18 on top. These recipes could all be made easily at home using your regular utensils and oven. Most baking temps would be 350
