Chinese chicken wings

1 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup sugar
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp ginger, ground
1/4 tsp anise, ground
1/4 tsp allspice, ground
6 scallions, sliced thin

16 chicken wings

How to prepare

Mix the soy sauce, anise, allspice, ginger and oil in a lg bowl. Mix in the sugar until dissolved. Stir in the scallions. Add the chicken wings to the marinade. Toss to coat thoroughly. Cover with plastic wrap. Marinate, refrigerated, for 8 hours or longer. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Drain the chicken wings. Reserve the marinade. Place the wings in a (9″x12″) baking dish. Bake until golden brown (40-60 minutes-depending on how crisp you want them). Baste 2 or 3 times with the marinade while baking.
